Inspired by Dorothea Rockburne, an artist who adopted an unexpected approach to art by manipulating materials according to mathematical logic. Rockburne used simple geometry and theory – the study of how objects and information can be organized symbolically and numerically – to arrange materials into divines that explored questions of material, conceptual, and physical belonging, by displacing, folding, manipulating, and tearing paper.
This project was in collaboration with COS x Dia:Beacon in honor of Dorothea Rockburne's exhibit at the Dia:Beacon in May 2018.
